Glyco Reset and Diabetes Medicine: What to Ask Your Pharmacist First
Glyco Reset and diabetes medicine have not been tested together, so no source can say they mix safely. Sources link some blend names to low blood sugar, high blood pressure and bleeding. Keep taking prescribed medicine, show the label to your pharmacist before the first dropper, and never change a dose yourself.

What should you bring to the pharmacist about Glyco Reset and your medicines?
Bring the full label of Glyco Reset and your medicine list, because a pharmacist can only compare what they can see.
The label gives chromium (as chromium picolinate) 0.7 mcg and a 200 mg proprietary blend of twenty-one names. It prints no amount per name, so the pharmacist will be working from names alone. Point out gymnema, green tea, guarana, licorice-derived glycyrrhizinate, coleus forskohlii and African mango. Those are the names that sources tie to medicine cautions.
We found no study that gave these drops to people on any medicine. So read what follows as a map of questions, not an all-clear.
Diabetes medicine02
Can you take Glyco Reset with metformin or insulin?
No source shows that Glyco Reset is safe with metformin or insulin, so keep taking your medicine and ask your pharmacist before the first dropper.
MedlinePlus says to continue metformin even if you feel well, and to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all supplements and herbal products (MedlinePlus, Metformin). The American Diabetes Association says some ingredients could intensify the effects of diabetes medicines, which can mean low blood sugar (ADA, Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements (diabetes.org)).
| Name on the label | What the source says |
|---|---|
| Gymnema Leaf Extract | Lowered blood sugar in lab studies; effectiveness in diabetes not shown (LiverTox, Gymnema) |
| African Mango Seed Extract | People on antidiabetic medicine should not take it, based on rat data (MSK, Irvingia gabonensis / African mango (About Herbs)) |
| Monoammonium Glycyrrhizinate | Licorice is listed with insulin and metformin (MSK, Licorice (About Herbs)) |
| Ginseng Root Extract | Blood sugar may drop; people with diabetes should consult a provider (NCCIH, Asian Ginseng) |
| Chromium picolinate, 0.7 mcg | Could raise the risk of low blood sugar with insulin (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet for professionals) |
The chromium row is a statement about chromium at much larger amounts. On this label the amount is 0.7 mcg, about 2% of the Daily Value.
Low sugar signs03
What does low blood sugar look like if you use a diabetes medicine?
Low blood sugar looks like trembling, cold sweats, hunger, a pounding pulse or confusion, and a reading of 70 mg/dL or lower counts as low (Mayo Clinic, Hypoglycemia).
People on insulin or a sulfonylurea already live with this risk, and a new supplement can make it harder to read. If you notice these signs after starting any supplement, test your sugar if you have a meter, treat it as your care team taught you, and call them the same day.
Severe low blood sugar, a faint or a seizure needs 911 (MedlinePlus, Low blood sugar). Do not wait to see whether the drops are the cause.
Keep taking prescribed medicine. Any change in dose is a decision for your doctor.
Blood pressure04
Does Glyco Reset interact with blood pressure medicine or diuretics?
Sources list blood pressure medicine and diuretics as cautions with two names in the Glyco Reset blend: licorice-derived glycyrrhizinate and coleus forskohlii.
Sloan Kettering says the most common licorice side effect is high blood pressure with low potassium, and it names diuretics, blood pressure medicines, insulin, metformin and warfarin as interactions (MSK, Licorice (About Herbs)). NCCIH adds that glycyrrhizin can cause irregular heartbeat with large or long-term use (NCCIH, Licorice Root). The same source for forskolin says it may add to blood pressure drugs (MSK, Forskolin / Coleus forskohlii (About Herbs)).
The label gives no glycyrrhizin amount and no forskolin amount. Caffeine from green tea and guarana can also raise blood pressure (MedlinePlus, Caffeine). If you take a pressure drug, a water pill or a heart rhythm drug, this is the section to show your doctor.
Bleeding and stimulants05
What about blood thinners, stimulants and other medicines?
Blood thinners, stimulants and thyroid medicine each have a named caution with at least one ingredient in the blend.
Blood thinners
Guarana and forskolin are listed with blood thinners, and ginseng may affect clotting (MSK, Guarana (About Herbs)) (MSK, Forskolin / Coleus forskohlii (About Herbs)) (NCCIH, Asian Ginseng).
Other stimulants
Guarana should not be stacked with stimulants, and the green tea in the blend carries caffeine too (MSK, Guarana (About Herbs)).
Thyroid medicine
In one small study chromium reduced levothyroxine absorption. Space doses as your pharmacist advises (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet for professionals).
If surgery is planned, tell the surgeon about the drops well ahead of the date.
Your answers06
Which of your medicines need a pharmacist check?
Answer the questions below to see which of your medicines or conditions should prompt a call before the first dropper.
Why these questions: (Mayo Clinic, Hypoglycemia) (MedlinePlus, Metformin) (ADA, Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements (diabetes.org)) (NCCIH, Diabetes and Dietary Supplements) (MSK, Licorice (About Herbs)) (LiverTox, Green Tea). A checklist, never a clearance: only your doctor or pharmacist can say a supplement is right for you.
If something feels wrong07
When is a reaction to Glyco Reset and medicine an emergency?
A reaction is an emergency when it brings fainting, a seizure, severe confusion, chest pain or trouble breathing.
Other signs call for a same-day visit or a call to your doctor. The levels below separate them.
- See a doctor soonMore thirst than usual, frequent urination, unexplained tiredness, blurred vision, or shakiness that keeps following meals.
- See a doctor the same dayMore than one reading at 70 mg/dL or lower, or low-sugar signs that keep returning.
- Stop and call your doctorAfter starting any supplement: a racing or uneven heartbeat, new swelling, a severe headache, yellowing skin or eyes, or dark urine.
- Emergency room or 911Fainting, a seizure, severe confusion, trouble breathing, or low blood sugar that stays down after treatment.
Signs drawn from public health and clinic sources (Mayo Clinic, Hypoglycemia) (MedlinePlus, Low blood sugar) (LiverTox, Green Tea). This list is not complete, and a supplement is never a reason to wait.
Only blood tests diagnose diabetes or prediabetes (NIDDK, Diabetes Tests & Diagnosis), and a supplement is not a medicine (NCCIH, Diabetes and Dietary Supplements). See also the side effects and the ingredient list.
FAQ08
Questions about Glyco Reset and medicines
Can I take Glyco Reset with metformin?
No source shows that it is safe with metformin. Keep taking metformin, and ask your pharmacist before the first dropper, since MedlinePlus advises telling them about every supplement. Do not skip or lower a dose to make room for the drops.
Does Glyco Reset replace diabetes medicine?
No. It is a dietary supplement and not a diabetes medicine. The FDA has warned companies that sold supplements as diabetes treatments. Keep taking prescribed medicine and follow your doctor's plan.
Is Glyco Reset safe with lisinopril or other blood pressure pills?
We cannot say. Licorice compounds and caffeine can raise blood pressure, and forskolin may add to blood pressure drugs. Show the label to your pharmacist, and keep your usual pressure checks.
Can Glyco Reset interact with warfarin?
Sources list blood thinners as a caution with guarana, forskolin and licorice. No test of the drops exists. If you take warfarin, ask your doctor before starting.
Will Glyco Reset change my A1C or meter readings?
No source shows it does, and we make no such claim. Gymnema rose A1C in some human trials. Tell your doctor what you take, because supplements can muddy the picture they use to adjust medicine.
Which supplements should not be combined with Glyco Reset?
We cannot name a safe pairing. Other caffeine products, licorice products, chromium and herbs sold for blood sugar overlap with the blend. List everything for your pharmacist.
